data network access in our dorms in Merseburg

Transfer volume monitoring and limitation is carried out to ensure data network stability and the most constant network speed:

  • A maximum data transfer volume of 200 GB per 30 days is available per connection / dorm occupant.
  • You will receive an email notification when you have exceeded 70% of your maximum data transfer volume. You can also view your surfing statistics at any time in the NetAccess portal.
  • If the maximum data transfer volume is exceeded, your data network connection will be throttled to 1 Mbit. This is comparable to a 1.000 DSL speed.

data network access in our dorms in Dessau, Bernburg and Köthen

The data network connection is provided in our dormitories at the locations of the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences by the computer center of the university. The data center of the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences monitors the data network stability and the network speed remains as constant as possible. If bandwidth problems arise here, the university reserves the right to take appropriate measures - e.g. B. a transfer volume or bandwidth limit - to implement.

There are currently no transfer volume or bandwidth restrictions for dorm residents in the dormitories in Dessau, Bernburg and Köthen.

What means data network access via the university's data network?

Access to the Deutsches Forschungsnetz (DFN) to support research and teaching.

In order to ensure that access in the dormitories largely offers the same speed and stability to all dorm residents and that the data network of the respective university is not impaired, the maximum data transfer volume is restricted when used intensively.

What the data network access via the university's data network is NOT?

Access is not a substitute for a DSL connection or the like. The user regulations for data network access apply.
