Studying with a disability or a chronical illness is, when it comes to studying and life conditions at the university, a very complex matter. Your Studentenwerk Halle endeavours, together with the universities, to provide with comprehensive help from early on. This can only function effectively when you come up to us already before the beginning of your studies, for example with questions about accomodation for disabled persons in a dorm.
Prior appointment, once a week every Monday from 2 pm til 3 pm there is a office hour of the representative for disabled people of the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg together with your Studentenwerk in the Disability Representative of the MLU, Barfüßerstr. 17, 06108 Halle(Saale).

The BAföG is available in the first place to cover the educational costs for students with chronic illness or disability. Any additional financial requirements for study-specific assistance due to disability may be granted in accordance with SGB XII upon request.
